Ramona Paloma Tile Studios is located in the lovely nook of Sierra Madre, within the vast Los Angeles area. We are 2 friends, making high-fired ceramic art tile. We laugh a lot, walk our dogs all over town for inspiration and love the adventure of tile-making. We handcraft tile from raw clay using 2 different high-fire kilns–one kiln gives us earthy colors with depth and translucence while the other breeds brights (like reds and oranges) with more opacity. Great fun for a couple of chums!
Separated at birth, Tracy and Soozee, aka Viking goddess warriors, (and under the supervision of 2 dogs) combine laughter and the making of art into every one-of-a-kind ceramic tile.
Each tile is individually made. Some pieces have the design pressed into wet clay creating an image with raised lines. Other tiles are rolled out flat, on which we draw a design with wax. Both techniques generate a design for us to carefully fill in with glaze colors. The result is high-fired stoneware ceramics ready to be used in traditional tile installations or enjoyed on their own.
A mini-piece of art: placed on a mantle, used as a trivet, given to a friend.

Just wanted to say I purchased some of your tiles at the CAG Art show and love them. Just wanted to send some encouragement and let you know I am looking forward to seeing your future work! Vickers
Vickers–we totally remember when you came by at CAG. I think you are friends with Penny, right? There were definitely some laughs to be had then.
Thanks for your support! It keeps us going.
